School Site Council

There are many things that make Lighthouse special, but I believe one of the most important factors is parent involvement and voice. Lighthouse is your school and your voice matters.

One way interested parents can get more involved is through election to the School Site Council. Our School Site Council provides assistance with program planning and the budgeting process. The Local Control and Accountability Plan, or LCAP, requires input from parents, staff, the community and the school’s administrator. Members of the school site council work with the principal to monitor and adjust our school’s site plan. This could include anything from reviewing and analyzing data to allocating funds for our school.

The School Site Council is designed to be a decision-making body that represents all Lighthouse stakeholders. If this position appeals to you, we are conducting an election to select this year’s members. The group will meet monthly for an hour afterschool to give voice to the needs of our community. Information went home yesterday describing how you can become a member of this very important team and help us to better meet the changing needs of our Lighthouse community.

Thank you for considering this VERY important position.

Sincerely,

Jeff Freeland
