Music Program

Music

While most public schools are cutting their music programs and laying off their music teachers, RCS continues to lead the way in using music and art to educate each student in a well-rounded and practical way.

Hello, my name is Victor San Pedro and I love music!

I started on piano when I was just three years old and received my bachelor’s in Jazz Guitar Performance and Master’s in Music Education. My professional experience spans from songwriting, performing, recording, touring, and even videography in the music industry, however, my heart is with teaching music. My teaching philosophy is for all students to “DO” music, that is to actively participate in “musicking”, not just learn about music as an abstraction. When students authentically DO music, they learn about themselves, others, and develop the 4 C’s: collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and communication. I am excited to be working with all of your students and opening the door for them to experience the lifelong joy and journey of music.

Mr. San Pedro

This past year every grade was able to learn how to read music rhythms, develop their singing skills, write original music, and begin multi-instrumental proficiency.

The middle schoolers were able to write an original song, professionally record their song, make a music video, and release them on all music platforms. Here it is below:
