Lighthouse Groundbreaking Event: August 23 at 9:00 a.m.

On behalf of River Charter Schools, I would like to invite you to our Groundbreaking Event for our new Lighthouse Charter School!

Event:  Wednesday, August 23, 2017, 9:00am

Location: Corner of Hobson Avenue & Bryte Avenue, West Sacramento, CA

Arrival, coffee and pastries beginning at 9:00am. A short speaking program consisting of state and local Government Officials, Sacramento State officials and Steve Lewis, the Superintendent of River Charter Schools will begin at 9:15a.m. with photography following immediately after.

Speakers include:

  • Steve Lewis, Superintendent, River Charter Schools
  • Marlon Lara, District 6 Representative for Senator Dr. Richard Pan
  • Alexander “Sasha” M. Sidorkin, Dean, College of Education at California State University, Sacramento
  • Ronda Hutt DaRosa, Deputy Superintendent, Yolo County Office of Education
  • Quirina Orozco, Councilmember, West Sacramento City Council
  • Dominic DiMare, Founder, River Charter Schools

With the goal of being true incubators of change, River Charter Schools and Sacramento State will announce a new partnership at Wednesday’s groundbreaking ceremony. Sacramento State will establish at Lighthouse an extension of its Center for Counseling and Diagnostic Services, staffed by graduate students and provides low-cost counseling services to the local community. The Center will also allow for professional development and collaboration between Sacramento State faculty and Lighthouse staff, as well as services for the West Sacramento school community.
